Now, I am going to present my school in France.
The name in french is "Ecole des Mines de Nantes". It is an engineering school.
The majority of students had been accepted after one year of preparatory school (done just after the baccalaureate). However, each year, about 30 people are accepted about 2 years of preparatory school or with other diploma done in two years and suitable to follow classes of the school. In general, the number of people in a promotion is about 110 so there is about 440 students. Note: only 20% of girls.
The formation lasts 4 years when you are accepted after one year of preparatory school and 3 years after 2 years. I am in third year.
During the first two years, you do a lot of theory in mathematics and physics. The last two years, you have a specialisation. Mine is Quality and Reliablity of systems but I have heard that my option will be closed by the school next year.

During this year, I followed 9 courses in relation with my studies in france. The education year is divided in two semesters and at the end of each semester, you have an exam period.
The first semester:
- Manufacturing Operations Management: this course is about different techniques of production in industries. Very interesting. Mark: 78/100
- Computer modelling and simulation: it explains the use of the computer to manage project about production.Very interesting. Mark: 71/100
-Logisitics: the title is clear, it is about logistics in manafucture, this class is very similar to Manufacturing operations management.Mark: 55/100
-Total quality management: it explains the place of the quality in manufactures and how to manage it. Mark: 77/100
The second semester:
- Stochastics simulation and modelling: the most difficult course I had. It is about random number and their use.
- People and organisation: interesting because it explains the place of people in organisations.
-Innovation management: a lot of work (4 reports and one presentation) but interesting.
- Data Analysis II: a lot of work too, 4 reports typed on Latex on Unix. The aim is to analyse mathematic data thanks to functions on Unix.
All the year:
- Probability and statistics: not very difficult because I have done a lot of things last year in France, but long.
With these courses, I had about 12 hours of classes per week. Of course, I had some project to do, often by group and it took a lot of time.
