If you like what you can see and read in this site, you may want to go to Glasgow. But by which ways?
First of all, you can imagine that you will need to take plane.
I can advise you two lost cost companies which have departures all over Europe: Ryanair and Easyjet (See the part "Go to" for their websites) . With easyjet, you have first to go to London Stanted and then Glasgow Prestwick.
With these companies, you can find very cheap flights, it depends on the date you want to travel.
When you are in Glasgow Prestwick, you have to take train to Glasgow central station. It takes about 45 minutes and it costs 2,6 pounds (about 4 euros); you pay in the train when you meet the train agent. You have to show your plane ticket to pay only 2,6 pounds otherwise it is 5,2 pounds.
Then you are in the center of Glasgow and you need a good guide with maps, otherwise ask in the street for the tourist information center ;-).

This is a famous scottish song:
I belong to Glasgow
I belong to Glasgow,
Dear old Glasgow town;
But what's the matter wi' Glasgow,
For its goin' roun' and roun'!
I'm only a common old working chap,
As anyone here can see,
But when I get a couple of drinks on a Saturday,
Glasgow belongs to me!

Do you know the national song of Scotland?
Flower of Scotland
(Written by Roy Williamson of "The Corries")
Although "Flower of Scotland" is not a traditional song, it has been adopted as Scotland's de facto national anthem, along with "Scotland the Brave"
O Flower of Scotland, When will we see Your like again, That fought and died for, Your wee bit Hill and Glen, And stood against him, Proud Edward's Army, And sent him homeward, Tae think again.
The Hills are bare now, And Autumn leaves lie thick and still, O'er land that is lost now, Which those so dearly held, That stood against him, Proud Edward's Army, And sent him homeward, Tae think again.
Those days are past now, And in the past they must remain, But we can still rise now, And be the nation again, That stood against him, Proud Edward's Army, And sent him homeward, Tae think again.
0 Flower of Scotland, When will we see your like again, That fought and died for, Your wee bit Hill and Glen, And stood against him, Proud Edward's Army, And sent him homeward, Tae think again.

ERASMUS students have the same habits regarding the food in Glasgow.
First of all, the majority does the shopping in the LIDL which lies at about 15 minutes by foot. We need to go to the LIDL and not to the TESCO or SAINSBURY'S because these both shops are expensive compared to LIDL. Obviously, the food in LIDL is not as good as the food in the TESCOS or SAINSBURY'S.
According to me, the only thing that we can not buy in LIDL is the " crème fraîche". In LIDL this product is not as a french one.
The problem in doing its shopping in LIDL is that sometimes, food is very heavy to carry to my room. During the first semester, we went about once a week to the LIDL, but each time we came back really tired of this shopping because of the weight. So we decided to find a solution to this problem. This semester, we took once the taxi with all our food but the price was 2,80£ so we decided to find something else.
The last time we went to the LIDL we took a trolley ("caddie" in french) and we brought it to my building and then we brought all the food in my room. After that we brought back the trolley to the LIDL.
Result: one hour of walking and a big stock of water bottle, orange juice and milk.
